Most of the kids who undergo heart surgery recover in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, where our Child Life team works hard to make the space feel comforting, therapeutic, and family-focused. Their goal? To ease anxiety, encourage healthy development, and help kids build confidence as they face tough medical experiences.
Whether it’s walking them through what to expect or offering support during a procedure, Child Life helps young patients feel more in control and a little less scared.
