Through the David Ortiz Children’s Fund’s outreach programs, as well as through the life-threatening cases that come through the CEDIMAT Hospital doors, we have learned that more education is needed around prevention and immediate response.

For example, that a simple throat infection can lead to valve disease, or that a child only displaying signs of a fever may be thought to only have a common cold, where immediate care and treatment might prevent further complications.

We leverage our communication channels and events, as well as our work with local corporate and media partners, to ensure educational information is shared in local communities.
